About The Artist

Joel Hale was born in North Hollywood, California in 1957, but soon moved to North Central Texas where he continues to live near Saint Jo.

"Only once in a while is someone born with a talent as incredible as that of Joel Hale. Known throughout Texas and the nation, as an artist able to work successfully in any medium. His works have inspired and delighted people for many years," states Jennifer Ramsey, co-author of A Lady's Day Out in Texas, vol. III.

He is well known for his pen and ink prints, but even more so for his photo-realistic drawings on black paper in Prismacolor. In 1999 he won "Best of Show" in the Annual Muenster Art Show. In the summer of 2000 he presented the city of Gainesville, Texas with 15 wildlife drawings to be given as a gift to the major benefactors of the Frank Buck Zoo at the annual "Zoobilee."

Limited edition, signed, exceptional quality Giclee prints of Mr. Hale's drawings are available online and from Old Town Art Gallery on the square in Saint Jo, Texas where he also commissions heirloom portraits.
